CLOSING DAY!

Today we closed on our very first home! Everyone keeps talking about how exciting this is, and yes we are excited, but it is quickly followed with a little bit of fear. It is somewhat fearful when you feel like your signing your life away and taking on this huge debt as well as HUGE responsibility! I am also feeling a little anxious to get EVERYTHING done in my house all at once....HA! :) The Lord will definitely teach me patience through this whole process...that is for sure! One room at a time, one piece of furniture at a time. If you know Jason and I, you know we like to stay as debt free as possible and therefor will work very hard to make sure we don't get in over our heads, but it is just SOOOO easy to want to do....... :)

Gosh I'm glad I married him!

Anyway with out further ado, here is OUR new home!

and the patio where I can't wait to spend my Spring and into the Fall nights!

They're HERE!!!!

Our wedding pictures are in! I quickly tore open the package and pulled out the black box with all 500ish photos! I grabbed the cd and quickly started downloading them so I could share them personally instead of through the photographers website. Speaking of...I LOVED our photographer. He and his wife Stephanie were awesome and did an AMAZING job! Ever since weddings became a topic of conversations between my friends and I, I have always voiced that photography was at the top of my list!! I wasn't going to cut corners or cost in that area and I am so glad I didn't! They are priceless! I was able to steal a few from his blog that he did on ours, but now I have them ALL! Now comes the daunting task of picking out which ones we want to go into the album!

Oh and you can see some of my bridals now...since it won't ruin any surprises!

New year bring big changes...

for little Boomer at least. Many know of Boomers favorite toy the "mouse". Now the mouse was originally for Toby, my dad's dog. During one of our many visits Boomer found it and it was an immediate bond. He never let it go, so in the end Judy and Toby were gracious enough to let us take it home. The Mouse has been with for almost 2 years, which is simply amazing because most toys as any dog owner would know, usually only last a few months at best, especially the cloth ones! The mouse goes with Boomer every where, his bed, car trips, on the patio, afternoon naps, he has to have it!

Well things are changing in little Boomers world. Yesterday for NYE we went to our friends house, The Hanna's. The pups got to go with us since we were planning on staying the night. So of course we took the Mouse with us for Boomer to play with. Hayli Hanna (their golden) took an immediate liking to the Mouse as well and in the end when we all thought she was chewing on a bone, we realized it was...

THE MOUSE!!!

RIP MOUSE

??/??/07-12/31/08

Now we are being careful not to say the work M-O-U-S-E because then Boomer will start looking for it and he has a hard time stopping until his mission is complete. We are now on the hunt for a new one. This was a hard loss for all of us. I'm still a little emotional about it, but I'm glad I got those precious pictures of him with the mouse this past week before his passing!!!

The start of something new...

We just finished celebrating our first Christmas as a married couple! We had a ton of fun keeping it simple (as far as presents goes) but still being able to see pretty much ALL of my family. It was nice to see all my 17 cousins (or something like that) !!!

We actually started on Christmas Eve Eve this year and the festivities continued until Christmas evening...whewwww!

Even though Jason and I told each other to keep it simple he still managed to over do it a bit and got me an iphone!!!!!!!! It's my new favoirte toy and I would highly suggest for everyone to invest...it's totally worth it! I needed a new phone though, mine was far beyond its last leg...but I still use it as my alarm since I'm so used to it. hehe

Tomorrow is a big day for us. We are hitting the housing market pretty hard with our realtor! We have 10 houses lined up now to look at to get a feel for things. We had about 14 or so those are already under contract...sad. I have a feeling this will be happening often with the interest rates as low as they are getting.

Oh and after years and years of contemplating the thought of chopping off my hair, I finally did it! Thanks to Troy at my favorite salon, he helped me brave the hard decision. I LOVE IT...for now! I do miss putting my hair in pony tails though!

My short hair! We were at Pete's Piano bar for Michaels birthday. That's Michelle and
Mr. Taylor, not sure what this was about but I realized last min. I was going to be in the photo so I cheesed it really fast!

Mr. Ferris...

After much debate we decided Jason would change his last name to Ferris. I know I know this comes as a complete surprise to ALL but after a week of the hotel in Aruba calling him that we decided it just fit....NOOOOOOT! :) But we did giggle every time they said "thank you Mr. Ferris" when helping us out with whatever we needed.

So we are home from our honeymoon in Aruba which was awesome! We have way more pictures than we can post, but I will try to get around to making a quick slide show of the ones worth showing.

As for the wedding, it was beyond words! I started praying a long time ago for this time in my life, for the man of my dreams, and for a day only made for a princess. The Lord didn't miss a thing! He answered my prayers in every single way. My wedding planning was probably THE most exciting, humbling, enjoyable thing I have ever done. I might blog on tips later because I thought of a lot over the last week while soaking in the sun and dodging a few flamingos...yes flamingos!

For now it is time for bed. We woke at 5 Am Aruba time (3:00 am Dallas) and traveled all day, unwrapped remaining wedding presents, and unpacked 4 suitcases!!!!!
Sweet Dreams!
